Summary of Case:

Wrongly convicted and hanged in 1950 after falsely confessing to the murder of his wife and infant daughter. Granted posthumous pardon in Nov. 1966 based on overwhelming evidence that John Christie had committed the murders. Christie who had falsely testified against Evans to conceal his own complicity, confessed to the murders in 1953. Mr. Christie was also executed. Evans was posthumously pardoned by the British government in 1966 based on his innocence.
