Summary of Case:

Joked to police on street that he fit the description of killer and he was arrested. In May 1934, DeMore falsely confessed and pled guilty to the murder to escape a death sentence police threatened him with if he would be convicted after a trial. He was exonerated when the real killer was captured and confessed. Missouri Gov. Park pardoned DeMore in Oct. 1934.

Falsely confessed under intense police interrogation in which he was threatened that he would be receive a death sentence if he kept insisting he was innocent and went to trial and was convicted. Also, eyewitness error.

Actual murderer was arrested and confessed. Pardoned by MO Gov. Park in Oct. 1934.
